The Hereford Hog is a medium size hog that was developed in the USA. The Hereford's name comes from its fancy red with white trim just like the Hereford Cattle. The breed description calls for them to be primarily red with a white face and two or more white feet. Red color can vary but the dark red is most desirable.
We went with Hereford's not only because they are a wonderful heritage breed but because they are adaptable and thrive in outdoor operations and do well in a variety of climates. They are known as the "Black Angus" of pork possessing a superior marbleized and flavorful meat! They are known for their docile and quiet temperament which is something else that was important to us.
We are so excited to share our Hereford pigs with you!
When we moved onto the farm I knew I wanted goats; I grew up raising and selling registered Fainting goats and wanted more goats in my life!
We purchased our first Nubians in 2017 and have enjoyed the adventure in dairy goats ever since, acquiring new lines and a wonderful Saanen doe! There are so many wonderful benefits to Goats milk and enjoy not only making cream, cheese and using it daily, in our coffee, shakes etc but we also make soaps! There is so many uses for it! We also use these lovely ladies milk to help raise any bottle babies we have! They make sure to earn their oats at the barn!
